12 Nations Compete With Style

Putra Pauh, 22 October – 12 Nations competed with elegance at the first round stroke competition for Men’s category for the 4th World University Woodball Championship Competition (WUWC) 2014 held at Woodball field at Syed Sirajuddin Areeb Putra Sports Complex, main campus University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP).

Amongst the 12 nations are Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong China, India, Uganda, Mongolia, Japan, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Korea, Laos, and the host country Malaysia. While for Women’s team only eight countries sent their participation for this championship competition.

According to the Joint Secretary cum Director of UniMAP Sports Centre, Afizal Abu Othman, the athletes have exhibited excellent actions although they are competing for the first round.

“The official results have not been released yet, but as observed from the match, the Thai team have excelled where two men players were able to hit below 50 strikes.

“Nevertheless, the final results will be decided after the second round which will take place on the 24th October,” he said.

He reiterated that, the total number of strikes accumulated by every player in the team category which will determine the 12 participants who will be eligible for the final in the individual category stroke competition that will take place on the 25th October.
