430 Students Pledge Oath

Kangar, 30 Mei – 430 new Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) diploma students pledge an oath as university students during the Undergraduate Welcoming Ceremony (Students' Pledge) which took place at Dewan Kecemerlangan, UniMAP Main Campus Lecture Hall Complex, Pauh Putra early today.

UniMAP Vice Chancellor Dato’ Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal said in his address that all students should be grateful to be accepted into the university especially after successfully competing with other applicants.

“At 14 years of age, UniMAP is a university that has nearly come of age, and yet from the standpoint of teaching and learning curricula, UniMAP has already attained an admirable level.

“Students should be proud and thankful to be able to study at the most dynamic among 20 Public Universities (UA) in Malaysia,” he expressed.

He spoke to 276 male and 154 female Diploma students in the 2016/2017 academic session who registered on 29 May.

He added that if seen from its achievements, UniMAP has been classified as an excellent university ahead of research and comprehensive universities that has been long established in Malaysia thanks to Malaysian university ranking and rating recognition.

“This excellence is not only because of existing infrastructure but also because of its students which are important assets to UniMAP for its distinction in performance to endure,” he said.

He hoped that all students will remain with the university not just to maintain its excellence but also to help elevate UniMAP to a higher level, which is to be among the top 500 universities worldwide by 2020.

The introduction of UniMAP Deparment Heads was also held during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Diploma of Manufacturing Engineering student Abdul Khalim Al Azizi Syahril from Johor led the pledge reading.
