UniMAP Launches Khairat Kematian Tabarruq Scheme

Pauh Putra, 24 Jun – Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan held an Ihtifal Ihya’ Ramadhan Ceremony at Dewan Ilmu, UniMAP Permenant Campus recently.

At the event, the Khairat Kematian Tabarruq Scheme was launched to complement the existing UniMAP Khairat Kematian Management Agency.

UniMAP Vice Chancellor Dato’ Prof Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal said that UniMAP intends to make compulsory for local Muslim staff to contribute with a five ringgit salary deduction each month although a higher amount is more than welcome.

“InsyaAllah with this programme, the welfare of our staff and their families will be cared for in accordance with the stipulated conditions.

“I am certain that this will lessen the financial burden of employees and their families after enduring a loss of a loved one,” he said in a speech during the event.

Gracing the event with their presences were the Raja Perlis Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail, Raja Muda Perlis Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail who is also the UniMAP Chancellor and Raja Puan Muda Perlis Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tuanku Hajjah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil

Also present were the Perlis State Legislative Assembly Speaker Dato’ Hamdan Bahari who represented the Perlis Chief Minister, State Secretary Tuan Ahmad Zamri Khairuddin, Chairman of the University Board of Directors Dato’ Prof Emeritus Ir Dr Zainai Mohamed and the former UniMAP Vice Chancellor Datuk Prof Dr Emeritus Dr Kamarudin Hussin.

At the ceremony, the UniMAP Chancellor and Pro Chancellor presented donations to over 30 orphans from the families of former UniMAP staff members and 20 underprivileged UniMAP students.

Donations in the form of cash and essential goods were given to help alleviate their burdens in preparation of Aidilfitri.

Almost 1000 guests consisting of UniMAP employees and students also attended the ceremony.
