UniMAP Alumni Helps the Needy

PAUH PUTRA, 1 July – Even as Aidilfitri looms near while everyone prepares for it in the last week of Ramadhan, it can be a different situation for those who are underprivileged.

This has pushed the Alumni Development Unit, Student Affairs and Alumni Department (HEPA) and the Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) Foundation into action to help the needy and the disabled (OKU).

UniMAP Deputy Vice Chancellor HEPA Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan said that the donations given were collected from the UniMAP community.

“The programmed involved four underprivileged families and two disabled families in Perlis.

“I hope that these humble contributions would be able to help these families in preparing for coming holiday season,” he said when met after delivering the Barakah Ya Ramadhan With the Alumni and the UniMAP Foundation Programme donation last night.

Also present were the UniMAP HEPA Deputy Dean Dr. Ummi Naiemah Saraih and the UniMAP Alumni Association Chairperson Syed Akhmal Syed Jamalil.

Among the donations to the families were daily amenities, raya cookies and RM200 worth of duit raya.

Meanwhile, recipient Rosseli Mat, 78, was grateful for the donation given to his disabled offspring Norfizah Rosseli, 52.

“This contribution would ease our burdens to buy disposable diapers that our daughter uses.

“I am grateful to UniMAP for helping our family's preparation to celebrate Aidilfitri,” he said.
