UniMAP Receives 46 New Buses For Student Use

PAUH PUTRA, 15 August – Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) received 46 buses in preparation to receive new students for Academic Session 2016/2017 who are expected to register at the end of the month.

UniMAP Vice Chancellor Dato’ Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal said UniMAP signed a contract with IR-SAF Holidays dan Ekspress Sdn. Bhd. for a three-year period to supply 46 buses for use by UniMAP students.

“These buses will be alloted to four UniMAP campuses namely the UniCiti campus (10 buses), Wang Ulu Residential College (20), Simpang Empat College (10) and Pauh Putra (6).

“This division is according to the ratio of students found at UniMAP residential colleges and campuses,” he said during the inspection of the contract buses and related documents at Dataran Kejat, Dewan Ilmu UniMAP.

Also present were UniMAP Deputy Vice Chancellor Student Affairs and Alumni Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Fo’ad Sakdan, UniMAP Department of Development Director Prof. Madya Mazelan Abdul Hamid and IR-SAF Holidays dan Ekspres Sdn Bhd. Managing Director Khairul-Syakirin Harith Fadzilah.

Meanwhile, Prof. Madya Mazelan stated that 10 buses are currently in operation for diploma students at the UniCiti campus.

“For a start, we have stationed 10 buses at the UniCiti Campus to facilitate the travel of diploma students staying there to classes and Kangar,” he said.
