Eight UniMAP Students To Attend Student Mobility Programme to Nahda University, Egypt

PAUH PUTRA, 18 August – Eight Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) students have been selected to participate in the Student Mobility Programme 2016 at Nahda University in Egypt.

UniMAP Vice Chancellor Dato’ Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal said that the mobility programme will be a reciprocal visit of the Nahda University delegation who visited during a similar programme last August.

“I hope that this programme will help students gain knowledge and experiences to improve themselves.

“Use this opportunity as a minor ambassador of UniMAP to promote both our university and Malaysia,” he said after attending the Nahda University Student Mobility Programme 2016 Departure Ceremony.

Also present were the UniMAP University Board of Directors Chairman Dato' Prof. Emeritus Ir. Dr. Zainai Mohamed and the Director of UniMAP Centre of International Affairs Dr. Noorhafiza Muhammad.

Dato’ Zul Azhar stated that the programme participants will be in Egypt for three weeks from 19 August to 9 September 2016.

“The participants had been selected from two schools, namely the School of Environmental Engineering and the School of Computer and Communication Engineering.

“The Nahda University Student Mobility Programme 2016 is a credited non-Academic programme intended to provide an opportunity for students to learn more about civil and computer and communication engineering at the university,” he elaborated.

Sophomore Bachelor of Computer Engineering student Erick Hermanto Lasimin said he will be employing this opportunity to gain more experience during his stay in Egypt.

“This is the first time I will attend such a programme and I will fully utilise the trust given to me by my School and by UniMAP to obtain new experiences and knowledge there,” he said.

Meanwhile, sophomore Bachelor of Civil Engineering student Syaza Nur Iylia Zulkifli said that she was excited to be chosen for this programme.

“I did not expect to be selected for this programme and hope that I will bring home the knowledge accumulated during my stay there to share with my friends here,” she said.

The students are sponsored by the mobility funds allocated by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) as well as contributions from the Schools and the students themselves.
