UniMAP Islamic Centre To Host Jom Baca Al Quran Programme

PAUH PUTRA, 8 September: Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) Islamic Centre will organise a Jom Baca Al Quran (Let's Read the Al Quran) programme in conjunction with the World #QuranHour on September 11.

UniMAP Islamic Affairs Officer Nasrul Che Ali said that they expect 600 participants at two suraus, namely Musolla Saodah at the Uniciti Campus and the PFI 2 Surau at Pauh Putra.

“The event will be held at both venues to facilitate students and staff members who are living at residential colleges in close vicinity of these suraus.

“I call on the entire UniMAP Muslim community to come together to support such activities intended to elevate and to encourage Muslims to interact with the Al-Quran,” he said last night.

The inaugural World #QuranHour will be held whereby the Al-Quran will be read worldwide simultaneously for an hour beginning at 9.00 a.m.

The date and time was chosen in conjunction with the wukuf of Hajj pilgrims at the Arafah Plains in Makkah.

This large scale event aims to invite Muslims worldwide to return to the Al-Quran, understanding and making the holy book as our daily guide.
