UniMAP Scores 3 Stars In Records Management Assessment
Kangar, 27 September 2016 – Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) announced today that it has obtained three stars in the 2016 Best Records Management in the Public University (UA) Category.
The award was bestowed during the Best UA Records Management Awards Ceremony which was held at the Audiovisual Documentation and Restoration Centre (PPPAV) Auditorium, National Archives in Kuala Lumpur today.
UniMAP Registrar Zuber Mohamed represented UniMAP in receiving the award which was conferred by the Deputy Head Secretary (Management) Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia Dr Junaida Lee Abdullah.
UniMAP Vice Chancellor Dato’ Prof Dr Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal expressed his pride at the achievement and hoped that this will be a boost to the enthusiasm for the UniMAP community especially in aspects of management.
He stated that the award will be a benchmark for records management performance to ensure that the implementation of records management programmes at UniMAP remain excellent.
“Besides that, this is a great acknowledgement for us all especially for the UniMAP employees who have been excellently implementing records management,” he said.
UniMAP received the award after a records management audit performed by an auditor from the National Archives from 16 to 17 August.
Aside from being an acknowledgement, the assessment was created by the National Archives to encourage healthy competition in inculcating a conducive records management among UAs.
