UGA 2016 Best Platform To Showcase National Higher Education

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh says the UMNO General Assembly (UGA) 2016 is the best platform to showcase national higher education.

"Much progress has been made such as the good position of local universities which are internationally accepted because of the efforts of UMNO," he told reporters after closing the 12th QS-Apple Conference and Exhibition, here today.

Idris said Malaysia is also among the top countries in the world in creative design education.

"Our universities are recognised as the top one percent of highly-cited papers published worldwide while Universiti Malaya will be the 100 best universities by 2020 and Kuala Lumpur as a destination for higher education."

Idris, who is also Minister of Higher Education, said it was time for UMNO to tell the people of Malaysia's success in higher education.

"We have to explain to the people so that they do not believe talks that we do not achieve anything in education."

UGA 2016 from Nov 29-Dec 3 wil be held at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur.
