30 Outstanding Students Receive Study Fund From Tunku Abdul Rahman Foundation
Kangar, December 13, 2016 - A total of 30 students from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) was selected to receive Education Assistance Fund from Tunku Abdul Rahman Foundation (BPYTAR) after a successful interview conducted recently.
Vice Chancellor of UniMAP, Dato’ Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal said, the selection of students is also looking at their financial status, where underprivileged students are given priority. Then the selected students are called for an interview.
“Besides financial, we as well evaluate and look into the applicants’ academic performance, based on their cumulative grade performance achievement.”
“Each recipient will receive a study fund of RM 3000.00 per person and I hope this financial aid will be utilised fully for their studies”, said Zul Azhar in a ceremony to handover the study fund to recipients in Dewan Keikhlasan, Kangar.
Also present are Deputy Vice Chancellor of Students Affairs and Alumni (HEPA), Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan dan Dean of Students Affairs and Alumni (HEPA) Associate Professor Razli Ahmad.
According to Zul Azhar, UniMAP is very honoured with the allocation and contribution by Tunku Abdul Rahman Foundation of which totalling to RM 90 000.
“We are very grateful and thankful to Tunku Abdul Rahman Foundation for their effort in helping to ease the students’ burden.”
"In addition, UniMAP also contributed RM1,000 each to three students, in which their family's home was destroyed by fire a few months ago," added Zul Azhar .
