Raja Muda Perlis Joins 600 Public University Students in Social Responsibility Program
Arau, Feb 26 (Bernama) - The Raja Muda (Crowning Prince) of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail today is pleased to grace his presence in the University Social Responsibility program (USR) - Police Undergraduate Voluntary Corps (SUKSIS) at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP).
The inaugural program was held in conjunction with the 2017 Public University SUKSIS Best Practices Empowerment Seminar with 600 participants representing 20 UA, started and completed at Dewan Ilmu UniMAP.
Through USR, participants have the opportunity to share the volunteer projects organized by UA with corporate parties, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and government agencies in establishing a smart partnership to organize social responsibility programs.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also the Chancellor of UniMAP, joins the aerobics session with the participants and then together with 80 SUKSIS members participated in the cycling program ' The 14th Kayuhan MAIPs Peduli Menjejaki dan Menyantuni Asnaf' for the year 2017 streching as far as 25 kilometers.
Other than visiting three houses of selected asnaf, His Royal Highness as the President of the Perlis Council of Islamic Religion and Malay Custom (MAIPs), presented MAIPs’ zakat to 30 selected recipients in the praying hall of Kampung Rambai, Padang Siding, Arau.
Other programs held are mural painting on a bridge, motivational talk for 150 students of Sekolah Menengah Tunku Budariah as well as painting and cleaning the house of an asnaf.
