UniMAP Celebrates Less Fortunate Children
Kangar, July 14 - Arau, 53 less fortunate children from Rumah Kanak-Kanak (RKK) Arau, was celebrated during a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration organized by Institute of Engineering Mathematics (IMK) Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) here yesterday.
Dean of IMK UniMAP, Dr. Muhammad Zaini Ahmad said the program was part of the university's activities organized by the IMK Welfare Club which was held for the very first time.
He said that the main objective of organizing the event which held at the RKK Arau is to strengthen the relationship between the IMK staff and the less fortunate children as well as to share the joy of celebrating Aidilfitri.
"In addition, this program is also the best platform for staff in highlighting teamwork, management skills and entrepreneurship as well as creative and innovative thinking abilities.
"Hopefully this kind of cooperation will be the starting point for more collaborative programs between IMK UniMAP and RKK," he said at the Aidilfitri Celebration IMK UniMAP - RKK opening ceremony here.
Also present were Director of Perlis Social Welfare Department, Mohd.Hazam Ismail; The Principal of Rumah Kanak-Kanak (RKK), Anies Suzana Azhan Ahamad. Besides being served with variety of hari raya meals, RKK residents also received duit raya contributions and enjoyed various activities organized throughout the program.
