UniMAP Hosts 13th KIK For Public Universities
PAUH PUTRA, 31 July – Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) will host the Innovative and Creative Group Convention (KIK) for public universities (UA) which will take place for three days at Dewan Ilmu, Pauh Putra UniMAP Campus.
Co-Chairperson of the UA KIK Associate Prof Dr. Idris Md Noor said that the convention which will ensue from 1 to 3 August will be participated by 39 teams from 20 public universities.
“39 teams will compete their KIK projects here, among them those from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Universiti Teknikal Melaka, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, and the host UniMAP.
“The largest number of entries we have are from UiTM who dispatched five teams from five branches, namely from Kelantan, Kedah, Perlis, Perak and Selangor,” he said when contacted recently.
He elaborated that the winner, runner-up and first runner-up will respectively take home a RM6,000, RM4,000 and RM2,000 cash prize as well as trophies and certificates of appreciation.
The 13th UA KIK Closing Ceremony was carried out by Datuk Nik Ali Mat Yunus, Deputy Secretary General (Development) of the Ministry of Higher Education.
The KIK event is an annual public university programme that began in 2004.
