MAPUM Visits Asnaf With UniMAP Canselor
Kangar, Aug 3rd - Thirty members of the 68th Public University Housing Council (MAPUM) meeting held at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), were given the opportunity to gain a diferent experience interacting with the asnaf by the UniMAP Chancellor. They gain the valuable experience through the Kasih Cycle Program with Raja Muda Perlis, also UniMAP Chancellor, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail in the villages around Kangar suburb in conjunction with the 68th MAPUM meeting here.
The Principal of Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM), Dr Ahmad Zahirani Ahmad Azhar said that he is excited in joining the cycle program since they are able to approach the village communities.
“The majority of MAPUM meeting members have never had the of being involved with activities such as this, thus it gives them a valuable and meaningful experience.
UniMAP Chancellor also spend time with us to meet asnaf in the villages. We are able to witness lives of different racial and religious communities in the state, "he said representing MAPUM after following the program from Taman Merpati, Kampung Padang Behor, Kampung Sungai Tepi and Kampung Bakong, here, today.
Also present were UniMAP vice-chancellor Dato 'Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal with UniMAP top management, Perlis State Department Heads, Perlis Islamic Religious Affairs and Malay Customs (MAIPs) and staff of UniMAP's residential colleges.
The MAPUM meeting which began yesterday was chaired by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni (HEPA) Prof. Dr. Ismail Ali.
This is 68th MAPUM meeting is the third one being organized by UniMAP. The meeting was joined by 20 UAs across the country with the objective of sharing the views of management of the UA residential college as well as functioning as an a medium for constructing accommodation management policies at UA residential colleges.
