Kangar, March 30 - The Institute of Nano Electronic Engineering has launched a publication scoreboard and an e-scoreboard at the institute today in an attempt to motivate and inspire UniMAP staff.

The director of INEE UniMAP, Assoc Prof Dr. Ruslinda A. Rahim said that this effort is the first ever done at UniMAP and other public universities in Malaysia.

It was launched as part of INEE’s strategy to produce high impact research other than reducing the usage of paper which in turn will reduce printing cost.

“Even though INEE is a small unit, the collaboration culture among INEE reseachers with other researcher from UniMAP and other institutions can be fostered through the launching of this scoreboard and this will improve the number of publication,” she said in her speech during the launch.

She added that between 2013 and 2017, INEE had produced 50% Q1 and Q2 ranked article from its total publication.

The digital scoreboard will be updated fortnightly through INEE webiste which can be reached at https:// inee.UniMAP.edu.my.

“ It is hoped that the  scoreboard will motivate UniMAP researchers to increase the number of publication and referred by researhers from all around the world,” she added.

The Publication Scoreboard officicating ceremony was completed by UniMAP Deputy Vice Chancellor for research and innovation, Prof Dr Uda Hashim.

Dr. Uda hope that the scoreboard will not only serve as an example for UniMAP but also to other UA in Malaysia. The momentum of publication output in Scopus should be improved to fulfil the Malaysian Research Assessment (MyRA), The Ministry of Higher Learning (KPT) and the QS requirement.
