Hong Leong Yamaha Sponsors Four Motorcycles To UniMAP
Shah Alam, March 12 – Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn. Bhd. (Hong Leong Yamaha) sponsored four motorcycles to University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme in increasing awareness about road safety.
The four models of Yamaha motorcycles that were presented were the Lagenda 115, Nouvo LC, 135 LC and FZ150i.
The motorcycles would be used by the Motor Sports Technology Research Unit (Motech) UniMAP in their ethical riding courses for UniMAP students, government agencies and the public.
The sponsorship presentation ceremony took place at the Hong Leong Yamaha headquarters at Bukit Rahman Putra, Sungai Buloh last Friday.
Hong Leong Yamaha was represented by Managing Director Datuk Jim Khor and General Manager of Sales Koh Eng Chan at the ceremony while UniMAP was represented by Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Tan Sri Dr. Uda Hashim and Motech Manager Assoc. Professor Dr. Shariman Abu Bakar.
Also present was Road Transport Department (JPJ) Director of Automotive Engineering Professor Datuk Ir. Mohamad Dalib.
Meanwhile, Khor said that road safety awareness is the primary focus of their CSR programme.
“We are proud to be part of this strategic cooperation while promoting safe riding skills to the youth of the community,” he said.
Hong Leong Yamaha had previously been active in promoting campaigns such as Celik Yamaha, Jalan Raya Balik Kampung Safety Campaign, Yamaha Safe Riding Science Programme and most recently the Yamaha Kids Safe Riding Science Programme. - UTUSAN ONLINE
