Almost 1,000 UniMAP Students join Iftar Kubra 2018

Nearly 1,000 students of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) from six residential colleges have joined Iftar Kubra 2018 to celebrate the first of Ramadhan at Dewan Ilmu, UniMAP Campus.

This event was organized by the Student Representative Council (MPP), the Student Affairs and Alumni Department (HEPA), the Residential College Council (MPKK), and the UniMAP Islamic Center. It was officiated by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International), Prof. Ir. Dr. Rezuwan Kamarudin.

Prof. Ir. Dr. Rezuwan said that he hopes the staff and the students of  UniMAP will be willing to share their rezeki with the less fortunate in this noble month.

"Although the contribution is not much, it will definitely have a very meaningful impact on them," he added in his speech during the event.

Also present at the event was Deputy Vice Chancellor Student Affairs & Alumni(HEPA), Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan.

In conjunction with the event, UniMAP has handed over zakat to 20 selected students before Tarawih prayers and proved that UniMAP is always aware of student affairs, especially in terms of finance.

The event received food and 240 boxes of dates from some individuals to be distributed to each residential college.

There were also other activities such as spiritual talks and a nasyid performance from Ar-Zhafran, a nasyid group from a residential college in Pauh Putra. Ar-Zhafran won the nasyid category at the Culture Festival between Residential Colleges (FESTKOL) 2018 recently.
