CEGeoGTech UniMAP Continued Its Glory In Makassar

Arau - Center of Excellence Geopolymer & Green Technology (CEGeoGTech), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) continued its glory when three of its researchers were selected to receive international research funding after a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed with an educational institution in Makassar, Indonesia.

UniMAP is represented by the Vice Chancellor, Dato’ Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal and Makassar State University (UNM) is represented by his Deputy Rector, Prof. Dr. Gufran Darma Dirawan at The Third International Conference on Mathematics, Sciences, Technology, Education and Their Applications in conjunction with The First International Symposium on Green Materials and Technology at the university recently.

Also present at the conference was the manager of CEGeoGTech, Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Mustafa Al Bakri Abdullah.

Mustafa Al Bakri said UniMAP will use its research expertise while UNM will act as research financier later.

"UniMAP has also signed such an agreement with several other countries including India, Vietnam, Australia, Romania," he added.

In relation to this research, three female researchers were selected by UNM.

"The selected researchers; Dr. Rafiza Abdul Razak; Dr. Farah Farhana Zainal and Dr. Norazian Mohamed Noor are from CEGeoGTech. They are also lecturers at the Faculty of Engineering Technology (FTK),” he continued.

Mustafa Al Bakri also added that the collaboration also took particular emphasis on staff and student exchange, dual program offering, research partnership, and journal publishing.

Meanwhile, at the same conference, over 170 lecturers and students from universities around Makassar showed an interest in pursuing postgraduate studies at UniMAP after attending a briefing session on the university.

They express their admiration with the good facilities, experienced academic staff, high impact publications, and achievements and successes of UniMAP.
