Jejak Bakti 2.0 Social Service Strenghtens Relationship Between UniMAP Staff, Community
PAUH PUTRA, 10 April – Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) via the Gyro society (GYROS) Club and the School of Manufacturing Engineering Staff Club organised the Jejak BAKTI 2.0 Programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan Guar Nangka in Mata Ayer here recently.
The one-day programme was collaborated by the Perlis State Education Department and participated by 45 students and 25 staff members from the School of Manufacturing Engineering.
Dean of the School of Manufacturing Engineering Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noorhafiza Muhammad said that the welfare and community programme was held to inculcate the community-friendly attitude between UniMAP staff and the local community.
“As we know, the community and community service programmes are synonymous with higher education students.
“Their involvement in community service programmes not only equips them with soft skills, but also inculcate the sense of volunteerism and helping those in need among our students,” she said when delivering her greeting speech during the programme.
Also present was the Headmaster of Sekolah Kebangsaan Guar Nangka, Mohd Nazdri Jaafar.
Noorhafiza added that they will turn the CSR programme into an annual programme after witnessing a very encouraging turn-out and commitment from both the students and staff members.
Among the activities conducted during the programme were a motivational talk, hostel’s facilities maintenance, painting, mural painting and also donation of shoe racks, products from a mini project made by students for their Engineering Workshop class.
Meanwhile, Mohd Nazdri expressed his gratitude to the School of Manufacturing Engineering for their concern and in contributing energy and needs for the school.
“I hope collaboration between the school and UniMAP will continue into the future,” he said.
