28 KOUNIMAP MEMBERS RECEIVE ‘DUIT RAYA’
Pauh Putra, 4th July – The celebration during the month of Syawal was felt by 28 Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) Cooperative members on the last day of Syawal as they were honoured during the Aidilfitri Donation Programme at UniMAP Pauh Putra Sustainable Campus last night.
The donations were presented to the recipients by UniMAP Vice Chancellor Prof. Ts. Ir. R. Badlishah Ahmad.
According to Koperasi UniMAP Perlis (Kounimap) Berhad Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr Muhammad Shahar Jusoh, this was a form of corporate social responsibility (CSR) by Kounimap to its members.
“Although this was the inaugural event, we had allocated more than RM5000 for the members and insyaAllah this will become an annual programme. The number of recipients will increase with the annual profit of the cooperative.
“Although the donation amount is meagre, I hope it will give joy to the recipients,” he said.
He added that the recipients members were selected based on the their' own applications as well as their standard of living.
“All applications were reviewed and filtered to ensure that the recipients were eligible and fall under the B40 group.
In the meantime, Kounimap is expected to introduce an insurance protection scheme worth RM20,000 to its members in the near future.
