Schools Should Also Focus On Science And Innovation - Perlis Raja Muda
PADANG BESAR, Oct 19 (Bernama) -- Science, technology and innovation are the keys to development and educational institutions, including schools, should pay more attention to explore these fields, said the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.
He said this was because theory-based education process was no longer the main medium to explore these fields, he said.
"In any given areas, theoretical and practical applications, innovation, robotic and research have become most important in knowledge development, besides to meet human needs."
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also the Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), said this when closing the 2015 Perlis Robotic and Innovation Camp at the UniMAP Uniciti Alam Campus today.
The three-days camp began on Oct 17 and was participated by 72 Form Three and Form Four students from 23 schools in the state.
The inaugural camp was jointly-organised by the UniMAP Institute of Strategic Studies, Leadership and Community; Malaysian Research and Innovation Society (MyRIS); Perlis Education Department; and Yayasan Tuanku Syed Putra Perlis.
