20 UniMAP Staff Received MS ISO 9001: 2008 Lead Auditor Certification

Arau, October 21 - A total of 20 staff of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) received the letter of appointment of the Lead Auditor MS ISO 9001: 2008, which gained international recognition through the United Kingdom Certification Body (IRCA).

UniMAP Vice-Chancellor, Brig. Jen. Datuk Prof. Emeritus Dr. Kamarudin Hussin all staff involved is the coordinator of Industry and Quality (JIPK) at School as well as the internal auditors of UniMAP Strategy and Quality Management System (SPSK).

According to him, the success of all the staff involved is something to be proud of in an effort to strengthen the integrity and quality of governance at school and university levels.

"All staff has attended Lead Auditor course which was held on last August 10 until 14 and all of them have managed to pass with excellent result.

"I believe, in a way it had been contributed from an early exposure received by the lead auditor through preparation courses organized by the Centre for Corporate Development and Quality Management (PUSPEK) and guest facilitator Mr. Abdul Ghani Fathil, who is also UniMAP Quality Manager,"he said in a statement here today.

The lead auditor vest and certificate giving ceremony were presented by the Vice-Chancellor, accompanied by Assistant Vice Chancellor of PUSPEK, Assoc. Prof. Abdul Aziz Mahmuddin. Also present was UniMAP Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and International, Dato 'Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal.

In the meantime, at the same event, UniMAP through UniMAP Foundation also signed an agreement with Total Organization Management Consulting (M) Sdn. Bhd. (TOM C) which among other things aims to produce more strategic management trainee in UniMAP.

UniMAP was represented by the Vice-Chancellor who is the Chairman of UniMAP Foundation, while TOM C was represented by its Director, Mr. Azizul Azmi Abdul Rani, witnessed by UniMAP Foundation Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Syed Zulkarnain Syed Idrus, and TOM C representative, Norhayati Omar.

Under the agreement, UniMAP Foundation will be the trainer to Strategic Management Decision Tools Workshop that will be marketed by TOM C (M) Sdn. Bhd.
