MAIPs Contributes RM208,000 During 'Kayuhan MAIPs Peduli' Programme
KANGAR, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- The Perlis Islamic Religion and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) contributed RM208,000 to 420 asnaf (eligible tithe recipients) during the 'Kayuhan MAIPs Peduli' programme which entered its 100th series today, since its launch in 2012.
The Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who is also MAIPs president led the cycling event, accompanied by state leaders and department heads.
MAIPs acting chief executive officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor said the Raja Muda had stopped by at the homes of four villagers in Kampung Ujung Bukit and Telok Jambu and handed over the donations to them.
He was speaking to reporters after a 21km cycling programme from the Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail Mosque to the Alwi Mosque here.
The programme, participated by 67 cyclists was organised by Universiti Malaysia Perlis, UniMAP Alumni Association and Utusan Melayu.
