HRH Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Making A Difference With 'KAYUHAN MAIPS Peduli' Programme.
KANGAR 22 Nov. – Crown Prince of Perlis, HRH Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail leads 167 program participants of ‘Kayuhan Peduli Perlis Islamic Religion and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) to visit the asnaf (eligible tithe recipients) here today. The cycling starts at 8.30 am from Putra Mosque and ends at ‘Perkampungan Sunnah’ Volume II 2015, Alwi Mosque in Kangar today. The program entered its 100th series today since its launch in 2012.
The program was organized by UniMAP Alumni Association and MAIPs in collaboration with Alumni Unit, Department of Student Affairs UniMAP.
Also involved was the chairman of Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM), Datuk Irmohizam Ibrahim; Head of Director for the Department of Community College, Datuk Amir Md. Noor and Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni UniMAP Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd. Fo’ad Sakdan.
Utusan Malaysia is the offical media for this charity program and Utusan Malaysia involved 8 representatives include its Group Deputy Chief Editor, Datuk Othman Mohamad; Photo Editor, Kadir Bachok and Head of Biro Utusan Malaysia Perlis Branch, Syarilfuddin Shaari.
HRH Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also the Yang DiPertua MAIPs, with its delegation stop by a few houses in Kampung Ujung Bukit, Kampung Telok Jambu and Kota Keran to visit the asnaf. This cycling program allows his highness to be closer to them, apart from promoting a healthy living.
For this year’s program, HRH and his delegation visited Hashim Ismail, 52, at Kampung Ujung Bukit, Bintong, followed by Kamis Omar, 66, and Rukiah Karim in Kampung Teluk Jambu, Bintong. Their tour ended with visiting Muhd. Izzat Izzuddin Abd Aziz’s, whom has been taking care of his disabled brother in Kota Keran.
All the asnaf were given donation of RM500 each, ‘fidyah’ money- a bag of 10kg rice, and also a kit called ‘Kits peduli MAIPs’ which contained rice and food supply worth of RM100 each.
The cycling delegation also stop by Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Putra before ending their tour at Alwi Mosque and are welcomed by the Mufti (Islamic Scholar) of Perlis, Prof Madya Datuk Dr. Asri Zainul Abidin.
