Emcees Talents Polished at the Secrets of Becoming Great Emcees Seminar

KANGAR, November19- Emcees play an important role in making an event interestingand ensuring the smooth running of a program.

In an effort to nurture good emcees, the Training Unit, Human Capital Development Division of the Registry Department, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), has taken the initiative to organize the “Secrets of Becoming Great Emcees Seminar" heldat the UniMAPCapitol Hall here, recently .

Ahmad ZulazmeerRozali, the Administrative Officer for UniMAPTraining Unit said, thatthe demands of emceesin any event requires a skilled person and someone who is able to spontaneously handle a situation should the event did not go as planned

"The training Unit believes that by providing basic knowledge about protocol and ethics in ceremony, an emcee who are skilled in handlingevents will be developed.

"In addition, participants will learn methods to communicate more effectively and get to showcase their talents in hosting events," he said recently.

The one-day seminar was conducted by two well-known personalities, Fedtri Ahmad Yahya and Abdul MalekRaiyani.UniMAP Vice-Chancellor, Brigadier. Gen. Datuk Prof. Emeritus Dr. KamarudinHussin was also present during the seminar.

"This seminar taught the audience  the knowledge and skills in the field of public advocacy in order to increase effectiveness in the delivery of public speaking.

"This is very important because government departments regularly organize official ceremonies and an emcee should have the skills to ensure the smooth running of the event," he said.

Zulazmeeralso said that a total of 250 participated in the seminar and the participation was not only fromUniMAPbut it also attracted the participation of other government departments.

"Among those who participated in the seminar are fromthe Perlis Accountant General of Malaysia,Health Department, Road Transportation Department, Perlis Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, MajlisAmanah Rakyat (MARA), PerlisState Library, Perlis State Information Department, Perlis,Perlis Correctional Centre,PerlisDepartment of National Unity and National Integration, Perlis Islamic University College, Department of Social Welfare, PerlisElection Department, Labour Department, Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority, the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) and the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA).

"On average, the feedbacks that we get from the participants from this seminar are positive and they hope that seminars such as this will be organized again in the future," he added.
