UniMAP - Duet Academic And Technical Cooperation
Dhaka, 22 Dec – Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) continues to develop a cooperative relationship with the Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) by having an academic and technical cooperation working visit here today.
The two day visit from 20 December by School of Computers and Communications Engineering (PPKKP) UniMAP was headed by its dean Prof Dr R. Badlishah Ahmad, accompanied by the School's Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Alumni (HEPA) Dr Muzammil Jusoh and Mustafijur Rahman.
This is the continuance of the cooperative relationship between UniMAP and DUET under DUET Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammed Alauddin who signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at UniMAP last year.
UniMAP Vice Chancellor Datuk Profesor Emeritus Dr Kamarudin Hussin expressed great pleasure at the commitment and appreciation displayed by DUET for UniMAP.
He said that through the visit, Dr. R. Badlishah was entrusted with presenting the lecture and workshop on the accreditation process at UniMAP which is the goal of the Bangladesh Ministry of Higher Education so public universities there could obtain academic qualification recognition.
“The visit also involved the sharing of UniMAP research achievements especially in terms of publication of journals and proceedings.
“Besides that, PPKKP UniMAP and the DUET Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering came to a mutual agreement to organise an international conference in 2017 and early preparations will begin in early 2016,” he said in a statement at UniMAP.
The lecture was attended by Dr. Alauddin, DUET Registrar Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asaduzzaman Chowdhury, deans of engineering degrees and DUET lecturers.
Earlier Dr. Alauddin expressed his amazement at UniMAP's achievements under Dr. Kamarudin's leadership in the field of academic, research and student development.
He said that DUET was very grateful for UniMAP's willingness to cooperate in the future as had been decided earlier which would include joint supervisions and visiting professors and assistant professors.
DUET is among five Bangladesh Public Universities that are renowned in the engineering field.
