UniMAP To Host UniKOW
KANGAR, 8 January – In its effort to strengthen Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) will be organising UniMAP Korean Week (UniKOW) slated to take place this April.
UniMAP Vice Chancellor Briged. Jen. Datuk Prof. Emeritus Dr. Kamarudin Hussin said that South Korea's advancements in TVET has attracted the interest of UniMAP in making Korea a country as an example.
“With 30 years of experience in TVET, we believe that South Korean has the best template for Malaysia in generating interest among the youth to be involved this field.
“UniKOW has garnered the attention of giant Korean corporation such as SAMSUNG and KIA to jointly participate in this programme,” he said when met recently.
Dr. Kamarudin elaborated that among the UniKOW activities will be the International Conference On Korea High-Tech Application (ICKHA’16), Hwan Yeong Cultural Festival and exhibition of universities and industries from Korea which are planned to be held on 8, 9 and 10 April.
“Inaugural programmes such as this must be utilised well by all parties especially students and the industry so they could accumulate as much knowledge as possible about Korean culture and the skills they possess.”
“We welcome public attendance and open the opportunity to those interested in universities and the industry to join the conference and the exhibition which will be held for the duration of UniKOW,” he continued.
