UniMAP Welcomes SMSTSP Benchmarking Visit

PAUH PUTRA 22 January – About 80 teachers and employees of Sekolah Menengah Sains Tuanku Syed Putra (SMSTSP), Kangar held a benchmarking visit to Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) recently.

The visiting group, headed by principal Adnan Harun, was welcomed by UniMAP Vice Chancellor Datuk Prof. Emeritus Dr. Kamarudin Hussin.

According to Adnan the visit was intended to expose the teachers and employees to the UniMAP work culture.

He said that although UniMAP was a young university, the competency of its Vice Chancellor in managing the university made it comparable to other public universities in the country.

Meanwhile, the UniMAP Vice Chancellor said in his speech that UniMAP is always giving full support and prepared to give guidance to schools in the state that show interest in the engineering field.

He said the existence of the Young Engineers' Club in schools is regarded as the first step in bolstering the interest of students in engineering.

The entourage was brought to visit the Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Library, the School of Manufacturing Engineering Gallery and the UniMAP Go Kart Circuit.

They also visited the Harumanis Smart Greenhouse and the Uniciti Alam Campus Sungai Chuchuh which was developed along with a private company to become an icon at the Ministry of Higher Education.

The school teachers and employees were also introduced to the modernised Digital Hub Library which operates by employing the latest technology without the presence of printed books.
