UniMAP Collaborates with STIE –Harapan

Medan, February 7: Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Harapan (STIE-Harapan) Medan in order to strengthen the network between UniMAP with the learning  Institution in Indonesia.

Vice Chancellor of UniMAP, Brig. Jen. Datuk Prof. Emeritus Dr. Kamarudin Hussin said, it is one of the initiatives for the realization of UniMAP international collaboration network between UniMAP and STIE Harapan in the future.

"I believe the establishment of this partnership, it will pave the way for us to move to the next stage which is to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the realization of educational collaboration of both parties.

"Such collaboration is extremely good because it will facilitate the implementation of the planning that has been done," he said after the signing of the LOI here, recently.

UniMAP was represented by its Vice Chancellor, Brig. Jen. Datuk Prof. Emeritus Dr. Kamarudin Hussin while STIE Harapan Medan, represented by its Chairman H.Kersna Minan.

Also present to witness the ceremony, the Coordinator of KOPERTIS Region 1 North Sumatera, Prof. Drs. Dian Armanto and Chief Executive of Medan HARAPAN Education Foundation, Dr. Tapi Rondang Ni Bulan.

Datuk Kamarudin added, UniMAP expertise should be disseminated so that the advantages owned can be a stimulus to other higher education institutions to continue to create success.

"I believe that with this partnership, we will be able to conduct a variety of programs including organizing international seminars and student exchange programs," he said.

Earlier, Datuk Prof. Emeritus Dr. Kamarudin was invited to deliver a public speech to more than 300 lecturers and students of the school.

Among those who participated in UniMAP working visit delegation to Medan and Aceh are the Dean of the School of Microelectronic Engineering, Professor Madya Dr. Rizalafande Che Ismail and Chief Librarian of UniMAP Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Library,  Mazmin Mat Akhir.
