Royal A - HEART Charity Walk Achieved A Collection Of RM30,000
Arau, March 26 - The charity walk, Royal A-Heart Charity Night Walk received an overwhelming response from more than 5,000 participants at the same time managed to collect funds amounting to RM30,000 to Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP ) Autism Education Resource and Training Hub’s fund (A-HEART).
Program that was organized by the Yayasan Tuanku Syed Putra (YTSP) and UniMAP, was also graced by the presence of Raja Muda Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hamid Adom said, walking charity program, organized in conjunction with A-HEART Festival was participated by UniMAP students and staff, apart from getting the support from government officers and private sector, as well as students of educational institutions and schools in the state of Perlis.
According to him, A-HEART Festival which will be held at UniMAP Pauh Putra campus until March 27, 2016 was organized specifically to introduce A-HEART UniMAP as an organization that offers convenience, service and training to needy communities in Perlis and the Northern Territory.
He explained that it is organized as an initiative to raise public awareness of the needs of autistic children and at the same time is to increase community involvement in the construction and development of autistic children toward prosperous society.
`` Although held at night, this program gives a new experience for the participants and it is also a symbolic support generally from Perlis people and UniMAP in particular in making community activities a success.
`` Hopefully this donations can help to realize UniMAP wish to build a guidance center and special education for children with Autism in Perlis, "he said.
The program involves a charity walk about 3 kilometers starting from Dewan Ilmu Square and through the Tuanku Syed Putra Faizuddin Putra Library.
In addition, there were variety of side-show themed "Glow In The Dark" which shows roller blade, car audio exhibitions, superbikes parades and fireworks display.
The program that was also attended by the children of Autistic from Center of the National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) also being celebrated with a lucky draw and the best outfit award according to the theme "Glow In The Dark", which offers prizes in the form of electrical appliances and hampers.
