UniMAP Reinforce Internal Control Entities To Fight Corruption
Pauh Putra, April 12- Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) remains committed in strengthening the integrity and prevention of corruption through the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Seminar in Public Sector Financial Management / Statutory Bodies that took place here today.
Seminar organized by UniMAP Treasury Department was held at Dewan Kecemerlangan UniMAP involving nearly 300 university staff of various levels.
UniMAP Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and International, Dato 'Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal said as the government's intention, UniMAP also took serious efforts to enhance integrity and deal with corruption among its staff.
"Thus, UniMAP will take into account the strategic approach in empowering aspects of the entity's internal control of public agencies.
"To ensure the smooth organization of this university, procedures and financial management, especially management procedures should be transparent and based on a regular adopted financial guidelines," he said when delivering a welcoming speech at the seminar.
The seminar was officiated by the Director of Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) Perlis, Assistant Commissioner Yaacop Angah.
Meanwhile, talks on anti-corruption awareness delivered by SPRM speakers of community education division (PenMas) SPRM headquarters, Mr. Jamil Dahalan.
In addition, the forum was also held with the panel members of UniMAP Royal Malaysian Institute Research Centre, Datin Paduka Datuk Dr Ramlah Adam, UniMAP Treasurer Saodah Hassan and Mr Jamil himself with the moderator YM Raja Shah Erman Raja Ariffin.
